The Forest of Dreams

There is a Forest not far from here... but far enough
Beautiful at night...
At day, full of fear...
Of shadows and of light

In it ... there is a castle
With only one tower
With only one door
With only one window
A singular pair of stairs...

Inside there ... lives a maiden... a lady of the forest
The one that never sleeps
The one that only dreams...
Never leaving during the day...
Walking the forest only at night...
She gathers the leafs that fall
Collects the feathers at dawn...
And bathing with the water in the flowers...
Changing from wolf to dear...
From cat to bat...
From beauty to fear...
She walks with them...
The creatures of the night...
She rides her unicorn..
From dusk till dawn..
She is as beautiful as the moonlight
As warm as the sun...
Returning to the tower only at daylight
As the moon goes away...
But loneliness is all around..
The day is much too strong..
The night silence is her music..
The owl chants fill her dreams...

As she awaits …

The one she cannot see ...
The one that is not far...
The one lost in the forest...
And that she can't recall...
As he went so long ago...
As long as time...

"Is there another castle out there?
With only one tower?
With only one door?
With only one window?
And a singular pair of stairs..."

And she awaits...

“May we ride the night together...
From dusk till dawn...
May we gather in between...
When the moon meets the sun...
May we be together at last...
Where are thee...

My Lord... be fast.”
